My mom used to say it doesn’t matter how many kids you have… because one kid’ll take up 100% of your time so more kids can’t possibly take up more than 100% of your time.

I’d like this mom of 10 to tell me whether this quote is true or not! Yes that’s right, mom of 10. I spent my Mother’s Day morning with them, and this incredible bunch taught me a lot about family, and about fun. I’ve done sessions with 10 kids before – but they’ve been cousins, multiple families coming together for a session with their grandparents, and we had a lot of hands on deck. But I was amazed that this bunch of 10 was way easier than some of my family sessions with 2 or 3 kids. It helps that there is a large age range, and they all take care of each other. This crew was so much fun, each one different from the next, and they truly enjoy being together. They have crazy inside jokes, make fun of each other like best friends do, and truly love each other.

The Mother’s Day miracle happened – not only did we get shots with all 10 kids looking at the camera and smiling, but we all had a good time while doing it. I love how their parents really enjoy being with the kids. They have a cool kinship and instead of worrying who was smiling or whose collar was bent, they lived in the moment. They make me reconsider my happy family of ‘only’ 3 kids. (And now my husband will be moving out).

Here are (most of) the boys – (check out their matching monogrammed Rugbys):
And the girls:

And the whole crew:

I don’t want to embarrass the big guys by posting the great shots we got of them (also I think this blog has a size limit and with 10 kids we’d be here all day). So here are a few of the little ones:

Thanks for a great morning guys. I’m so glad I got the chance to meet you all – I’m just happy I don’t have to fold all of your laundry! 🙂
