“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is the third mitzvah for this incredible family, and the third that I’ve been privileged to photograph. I absolutely ADORE this family. Amalya, Eli, Rami, Sophie and Dalya are each uniquely talented, which means that each mitzvah I capture for them looks a little different depending on their own individual personalities. All five of them are just about the nicest kids I’ve ever met (and as a family photographer, I meet a lot of kids!) The apples don’t fall far from the tree because their parents are incredibly kind, warm, and gracious. Together, they are all such a wonderful light to those around them.

However, today was all about RAMI, the middle of this awesome pack of siblings. He’s soft spoken and sweet with a heart of gold and loyalty to his family and friends that runs deep. Rami isn’t one to take large responsibilities lightly, and I have no doubt this bar mitzvah milestone is as meaningful to him as it is for his parents. Rami doesn’t love being the center of attention, so two hours of bar mitzvah portraits wasn’t his idea of a good time, but the smiles we got made it all worthwhile. (Thanks for humoring us, Rami! ;))

Documenting Milestones

To make it a little easier on him, I alternated taking photos of the whole family while doing a few individuals of him. Their kiddos (or young adults rather) are growing up so fast, so each mitzvah is a great time to capture that growth and have some professional photos done.

I always love any excuse to spend time with this crew, and am counting down until the next bat mitzvah! Mazel tov, and congratulations, Rami! I truly am proud of the person you’ve become – and are still becoming!
