There are so many things I loved about this amazing kid’s bat mitzvah. I loved the light at our portrait session; that amazing twilight as it peeked through the trees. I loved watching Mia’s three older siblings love on their little sister. I loved their shoes, I loved how mom was just one of the girls, and loved the way the youngest sister’s eyes sparkled as she watched Mia all night long. I loved the way their family and friends celebrated Mia with such joy and love, and I loved how the game of Coke & Pepsi was serious business. But most of all I loved this family. They’re tight knit and loving, they’re friends as well as family, and they’re a pretty special bunch. By the end of the night I was totally part of their crew and might knock on their door to hang out with the girls (and borrow some of their shoes!)

Mia is sweet and kind, funny and articulate. And since her bat mitzvah was early December, she asked her guests to donate toys for the needy for the holidays. Mia you are a shining light and I wish for you only amazing things in the future. So glad I got to party with you and celebrate you. Mazal tov Mia!
