Some of the most special moments I spent with my daughters happened during those first few hours after their births. The mix of exhaustion and awe and wonder and emotion was so overwhelming, yet it was also a time of calm serenity before we left the safety of the hospital to enter the chaos of home. I remember innocently setting up a birth plan (ha) with my first child, but the reality of it is that the whole process happens so organically, and not at all as I planned. But what I remember most about that time is those first hours after she was born, and being so caught up in the wonder of it all.
Welcoming A New Baby into the World
That being said, I’m so excited to introduce Fresh48 sessions! These unique sessions are done in the hospital during the first 48 hours of your baby’s life. Fresh48 sessions are raw and real. The intent behind Fresh48 is to discreetly document this special time for your family while you focus on bonding with your new member. I give you the space you need for this cherished time without studio lights or flashes. Everything is photographed as-is, and baby’s skin isn’t touched up in order to get all of the newborn details – the peach fuzz on their new skin and the milia on their tiny noses. Your photographs will look as real as the day it all happened through the expert eye of a professional photographer who can capture priceless photos you will cherish forever. As opposed to studio portraits, Fresh48 sessions are full of raw emotion and little details.
To give you a little preview, here is one of our first official Fresh48 sessions. And, oh, was it magical! This handsome baby boy was so fresh he didn’t even have a name yet. I was able to capture this sweet baby at just SIX HOURS old, and felt so lucky to witness big brother and sister (neither are very big!) meet their new brother. My heart melted watching this family welcome another sweet child into the world and become a family of 5. There’s nothing like it!
