Sandy Toes | Bergen County Family Photographer
Remember in the 80s when posed family portraits with cheesy backdrops (I specifically remember neon shooting stars) were a thing?! Each year, the family grouped together inside the local mall photography studio and put on their white shirts and jeans and forced some smiles before everyone lost their minds.
I’m so glad that photography has moved toward more real-life images. So many memories of my childhood are memories I have in photos (I’m not sure I really remember them, but I remember them because of pictures of those events). And when you see an image of the kids at the park, the bottoms of their shoes touching the clouds as they swing high in the air, you can almost hear their distinctive giggles ring out. As a family photographer, I want to give you images that flood your mind with those sweet memories every time you look at them.
I first met this family when their twins Max and Ben were a few days old. Over the past five years, I captured the twins’ milestones – we celebrated their first steps and real-life changes as the boys grew. And I am so lucky to have become friends with their amazing parents.
So, as you might imagine, I was thrilled when they welcomed their new brother Zev last year. I was elated by the chance to capture another one of their sweet boy’s milestones throughout his first year of life. With Zev, every session was so bittersweet for me as I watched him grow. They truly feel like family to me, and I wasn’t ready for him to grow up!
We wanted to end the summer with a fun family session in the sand, and as usual, this crew did not disappoint. We let the kids play in the sand and the lake because real and playful images are always my favorite. Their natural personalities and playfulness are far more perfect to photograph than any pose I could put them in.
Karsch Kids, I adore you and cannot wait to continue to watch you grow! Mom and Dad, thank you for continuing to choose and trust me with your memories, I always love hanging out with all of you!
