Making Memories
They say the best thing about memories is making them, and I couldn’t agree more. This session is proof.
My family and I recently went to Florida for some sun and sand and spent some time with my incredibly talented photographer friend Naomi. We both shot a session for each others family so we were able to capture images that include us moms for a change. The pressure was on. Not only was I shooting for a fabulous photographer, but I was on her home turf, the sun was different than I was used to, and we wanted a really unique session. Naomi and I were inspired by a photo we found and fell in love with the idea of a painting session. Her challenge was to convince her husband and kids to be photographed making a mess (clearly not so hard), and my challenge was to rock it. And rock it we did!
I loved EVERY.SINGLE.THING about this session. I loved the field. I loved this family. I loved the music we blasted while they painted. I loved the colors. I loved being able to be so free and creative in my shooting. I loved these three kids. I loved the tall grass I could hide in to get some incredible angles. I loved that we all smiled/giggled/laughed hysterically the entire time. I love that we created memories, and they have a creation to hang in their home right next to the canvases of them making it. (Did that even make sense? You know what I mean!)
Oh, and every single session from now on must take place in a field just like this. Dear random field behind a flower shop, thank you for being so awesome. Dear Bluth family, you rock my world. I wish I could take you and the field back home to New Jersey! (And if you think that I came home nice and clean you’re oh so wrong. I was covered in paint too!)

It was worth all the while
It’s something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life” – Green Day
This is fantastic.
