Changed For Good {NJ Bar Mitzvah Photography, Sammy}
“I’ve heard it said, that people come into our lives for a reason.
Bringing something we must learn.
And we are led, to those who help us most to grow, if we let them.
And we help them in return.” – Wicked
The first time I met this amazing family I fell in love with mom’s spunk and energy, and her boys’ genuine love for each other and for their mom. We clicked immediately and not only was I lucky enough to do another shoot for her recently, but I’ve been lucky to call her my friend. They are a family like no other. They wear their feelings on their sleeves, ‘I love you’ is heard hourly, and hugs are given and taken as frequent as breaths. They’re so very real and mom is an incredible role model. As a single parent, life isn’t always easy, but you’d never know it. She doesn’t stress (even when there are things to stress about) and as long as her boys are happy, she’s happy. By being friends with her she has taught me to be present, to celebrate every day, and to let those around me know how special they are. She’s taught me what our priorities should always be.
Her mom (the boys grandma) suffered a major stroke just five months ago. They were told to prepare for the worst. If (and it was a big if) she came home from the hospital, she may never walk or talk. Well this miracle grandma left the hospital in record time and with the help of their family is back to her old (not old, you know what I mean) self. I loved watching her with her grandkids, truly enjoying every minute with them.
Mazal tov to this entire amazing family on Sammy’s bar mitzvah. Because I knew you I have been changed for good.
