Photographing children every few months is so special. I enjoy getting to know the kids and seeing their emerging personalities (which usually become extra vibrant around year two or three). One of the things I love most about being a childhood and family photographer is capturing and documenting the very special, fleeting stage of toddlerhood. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to have pictures of early childhood. For parents, the days seem long, filled with sippy cups and laundry, but the years go by in a blink of an eye. We treasure the memories of those days with crooked smiles, bright eyes, and never-ending adventures.

A Beautiful Friendship

I’ve been capturing this family’s love every few months since the birth of their first baby. Watching Ben (and now his little sister Olivia) grow has been an honor—they are wonderful kids. The best bonus has been the friendship with their parents that has grown over these past couple years. Matt and Aviva, I adore you guys 🙂

After moving here from New York in search of a slower pace and more space, this session took in their brand-new backyard in West Orange, New Jersey. How lucky they are to overlook this beautiful lake! I can just imagine sitting outside with coffee every morning—what a gorgeous view. (Brew some extra, I may join you!)

Olivia was having a moment (and apparently hates grass!) but even her tears are beyond adorable! Her little meltdown looked like it belongs on the front of a humorous greeting card. I had a blast with this family, and I always look forward to future sessions.
