The Heirloom Blanket
We’ve already established that I love babies. Love. Adore. Want to hold all day. So when this mom called me a few hours after delivery to schedule her baby girl’s photos, I started my countdown to her session. Lucky for me I only had to wait a few days before I got to meet sweet baby Ava and her family.
I had so many things I wanted to do with her, buckets, bowls, headbands galore, and when Ava’s mom handed me the white knit baby blanket that her grandmother (Ava’s great-grandmother) made for Ava and her big sister Ruthie, I knew we needed to use it. The girls were both brought home from the hospital in/under this blanket. I love the sentimentality of it, and love that now it’s captured in photos.
Ruthie (almost 2) was a bit camera shy, and was more interested in the toys than her baby sister, but I was able to capture a few of them together, and a great candid of Ruthie alone.
The rest of the session was focused on the star of the show…introducing the gorgeous Miss Ava….
