Often when we cover events the day is long and chaotic and doesn’t allow much time for portraits. I’ve even known photographers who get brides and grooms dressed a week after their weddings to shoot their portraits so as not to compete with everything else going on that day.
Atara celebrated her bat mitzvah in September with a beautiful indoor party for her family and friends, but we put on our party dresses and hit the park in November for the outdoor fall portraits they really wanted.

Atara just radiates light and happiness. This smile never left her face, even when my camera was focusing on her siblings. She looked – and felt – like a princess in her dress and she made me smile just by looking at her. She’s a sweet and mature kid – I mean young adult – and the pride she brings her parents was written all over their faces.

Little sister Ariella also has a magnetic smile, and a giggle that I want to bottle up and keep in my pocket all day. I think she’d sleep in her dress if she could, and was caught twirling around more than once.

Dovid makes this trio complete. His ‘boy’ side comes out as goofy and silly, but with two older sisters he’s sweet and gentle and has a heart of gold. And clearly looks up to his big sisters.

As a family, they’re pretty amazing. Lots of love and laughs and they all seemed to be pretty proud of each other.

Wait, can we take a second to look at the detail on this amazing dress…
Congratulations Atara on becoming a bat mitzvah. May there be no happiness you can’t achieve, and no dreams you can’t fulfill.
