Liam Jeremy was born 5 weeks early, though he only spent a few days in the hospital and came home happy and healthy to a big sister and loving parents who couldn’t wait to start their lives with him. Mom wanted me to capture his birth, but because of his speedy entrance and the need for a c-section, capturing his bris was the next best thing.

Typically a bris occurs when the baby is 7 days old, but this guy was 2 weeks old, and it’s at a baby’s bris that he gets his name and is entered into the covenant of the Jewish people. Though I’ve been a guest at many ceremonies over the years, being up close and personal is really special for me. To see the look on mom’s face as she hands her baby over, the pride on dad’s face as he watches intently, the horror on grandpa’s face as he holds the baby and refuses to look at what’s actually happening (this grandpa focused really well on the ceiling.) I get to see the exact moment when dad whispers the baby’s name to the person leading the ceremony, and then the moment the baby finally gets his name. Liam Jeremy was named after his great-grandfather and I’m sure he’ll make the entire family proud.

Welcome to Liam’s Sesame Street themed bris! I loved all of the details, the bold colors, the dolls on each table, everything was perfect. Press family thank you for letting me capture this special day in your lives. Can’t wait to watch Liam grow. xoxo
