Mazal Tov Sophia
Though I get calls constantly for events, there are only a dozen or so I will do in a year, and when this bat mitzvah girl’s mom contacted me I knew it was a perfect fit. Sophia is an amazing kid and I had a blast with them. Sandwiched in between two older siblings and one younger brother, Sophia’s spunk and sass make sure she’s never lost in the crowd. She’s adored by her friends and I loved watching them celebrate her all day long.
Sophia spoke about the most meaningful part of becoming a bat mitzvah – helping another child in need. Sophia participated in Amit’s Twinning Program in which she sponsored a bat mitzvah celebration for an underprivileged girl in Israel. To raise money for her ‘twin’s’ celebration, Sophia sold frozen challah dough (and one week even trudged through a snowstorm to deliver) and raised over $1,800. The best part was actually meeting her twin Gal in Israel a few months ago and participating in a dual celebration for both girls at Gal’s school. They were joined by Gal’s friends and family and some of Sophia’s family as well (including crazy aunt Sarah and her eight children who I promised to give a shout out to!) Sophia called it an experience she’ll never, ever forget.
Sophia’s party here in New Jersey began with a cocktail reception in a beautiful (yet very sunny) garden and then moved indoors where the DJ kept the kids partying for hours. Sophia you should be so proud of yourself and your accomplishments, you’re off to do great things!
