Julia’s peace, love and happiness bat mitzvah was SO much fun! Her family and friends traveled from New Jersey to Manhattan for her party at Bowlmor Lanes in the heart of Times Square. This unique and festive space created a fantastic evening of dancing, bowling, and delicious food and it was evident that all of their guests had a blast.
Before we hit the bowling lanes and dance floor I got to spend some time capturing super fun portraits of the bat mitzvah girl and her awesome family! It was a really cold day, but this gorgeous family braved the winds and ran around Times Square with me. Good thing Julia wore sparkling sneakers because she was all about exploring the city during her photoshoot!
I fell in love with Julia and her family. Julia is sweet and kind, and even though it was her time to shine, she was happy to blend into the crowd of family and friends instead of being in the spotlight all night. I loved that. She truly has the sweetest heart. Her brother and sister also quickly rose to my list of favorite people – they sang and danced and celebrated their little sister with such love. And Julia’s mom and dad partied all night long and went out of their way to make me feel like an invited guest (well, a guest with a camera). I left feeling as if I’d known them forever.
Peace, Love & Happiness – A Retro-Themed Celebration
Bowlmor is more than just a bowling alley – with a bar, a club space, and different bowling rooms for adults and kids, this was an amazing place to hold a party. I really loved how they incorporated the food (by Zumi Caterers) and desserts into the décor. The retro-themed cupcakes and cookies were personalized with Julia’s name and super cute Flower Power logo. (Can I just say, I was thrilled to see this colorful 60s theme coming back around again! It’s one of my favorites.) The decorative pillows, personalized napkins, and cups that changed color all made sure that peace, love and happiness was felt throughout the venue – perfectly reflective of Julia’s sweet personality.
