When should I book my session?
If you need a Sunday session, you should book yesterday 🙂 My Sundays fly off the shelves and often they book up months in advance. Weekday sessions are more flexible. If you want newborn photos, please reach out to me in your 8th month of pregnancy so I can plan for your little one’s arrival. Once the baby makes his/her debut we make an official appointment. While newborn sessions are my favorite, and I wish I could take every session that comes my way, I need a heads up so I can plan for you. Please understand that I have a family and can only take a certain number of sessions per week.
What can I expect from my session?
Everyone always has different expectations going in to a photo shoot. And every shoot is different. In order for your session to remain relaxed and fun you should remember to just be natural and enjoy the time you are spending with your family. This way your poses and images will not feel forced or contrived. I like to capture each family’s personality in every posed or candid shot. I love shooting outdoors and find that families usually do as well. While I do have a studio with props and backdrops, the outdoor natural sessions are always the most fun!
What does a newborn session entail? And when are they taken?
Newborn sessions last about 2 hours, but every baby is different so times may vary a little. A little give in your schedule that day is always a good idea. Don’t bring much in terms of clothing, as clothing often detracts from the baby in photos. But don’t worry, I crank the heat up so that we keep your baby nice and warm and offer time to feed and soothe the baby if he/she needs it. Siblings and or parents are always welcome to participate in a newborn session. Please contact me if you are considering this option so that I can plan ahead. Newborn sessions take place either in my studio or in your home.
Is there a best time for newborn photos? Yes! The best time to do newborn photos are before day 14 of life. After that they’re often harder to soothe, baby acne sets in, and it’s more difficult to get those sleepy newborn shots everyone loves. On the flip side, the hardest time for baby sessions is 3-4 months. After the newborn stage, the next best time for photos is 6-8 months when they’re sitting. We can do so much with them at this stage!
What do we wear?
Oh that’s a whole other post! Check out What To Wear.
Children and family sessions last 60-90 minutes and take place at a location of your choice. When booking we’ll discuss the best location for the shoot. Its always a good idea to come prepared with something that may help to calm your child down during a session if a meltdown occurs. Plus it’s always a good idea to have a prop that you can personally connect with.
When do I get to see my proofs?
Once the session is over, I get to work editing each photo. Your online proofing and ordering gallery will be ready approximately 2 weeks after your session. You will receive an email letting you know when your proofs are ready along with a password to access the slideshow. Please note that the gallery will only be available for one week, after which it will automatically expire. Editing is done with my creative license. There are no refunds or reshoots.
How do we order?
Once you are ready to place your order you can do it directly on the site I send you, you can email me your order and I’ll place it for you, or we can order in person. There are various types of product to choose from such as prints, canvas prints, and digitals. If you want something that you don’t see in my online ordering section please feel free to ask for it! I’m happy to come and see your space and choose the perfect images and sizes for your walls. Orders will not be placed until payment is received in full. Orders are non-refundable and due to the custom nature of each photo, all sales are final.
Are the images copyrighted?
All images are copyrighted by Stefanie. It is illegal to scan, copy, alter, download, redistribute, email, and reproduce images without permission. If I post a photo on Facebook, please feel free to repost on your page, but please leave my logo on the photo.
Is there a golden rule when choosing images? Yes – bigger is always better! So many clients regret not getting their photos larger. Why invest your time and money in a special session and only walk away with 4×6 prints for a family album? Or teeny tiny 8×10 prints that no one can see. I’m happy to suggest the perfect sizes for your perfect photos.
Do you sell gift cards?
Of Course! Gift cards are available in any monetary increment! Gift cards make amazing gifts for a new mom, birthday present, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and any holiday!
Is there a membership?
Yes – the Baby Club is a great way to save money while getting in three milestone sessions in the first year.
