Lea, where do I begin. Ok I guess I’ll begin a year ago when two excited, scared, nervous, and hilariously funny new parents walked in my door with their new baby girl. This porcelain-skinned perfect baby girl who was born one month early and grabbed hold of her parents hearts immediately. Lea slept for most of our session and got into the most perfect newborn positions even though at 7 weeks she was older than the typical newborns I see. And when she was awake she just stared at me with the most stunning blue eyes.
Lea joined my Baby’s First Year club so I was lucky enough to watch her grow throughout the last year. I’m in complete denial that our year is over. Though the Baby’s First Year club is supposed to capture milestones in the first year, we had no idea that we’d capture firsts. At her 6 month session Lea crawled for the FIRST TIME, and then again at her one year session she walked for the FIRST TIME. Four amazing steps and she was so proud of herself! Apparently all she needed was me (and some cake!) to get those feet moving. 🙂 Lea also wins the award for the most cake eaten in a smash session. The kid went to town with this cake and had a blast doing it. I’ve been known to hide a cheerio or puff in the cake to hold kids attention, but not for Lea. We had to take the cake away for fear she’d throw up (also her parents and I might have joined her with spoons of our own at the end) 🙂
Lea makes me happy, and I’m thrilled that her parents have become my friends. It’s families like these that make me love my job more and more every day.
